The Hero Fund puts real action behind the phrase “We’re all in this together.”
To seed donations for the Hero Fund, Aldersgate is matching donations dollar-for-dollar up to $100,000. Our goal is $500,000—with every dollar raised going to support team members as they navigate this difficult time with a little more money, extra peace of mind and a lot of personal encouragement.
We recognize the significant personal sacrifices the team makes daily, as well as how COVID-19 is making their lives difficult too. They may face stressors such as needing additional childcare due to school closures, facing higher grocery bills or coping with a household member losing employment.
Every team member works to create extraordinary experiences and a healthy environment for our residents. And that can never be more important than now, during COVID-19.

How will the funds be distributed?
The Hero Fund will be distributed based on the size of the fund and the expected duration of the pandemic.
We’re celebrating our healthcare team members and essential team-member heroes, both on the front lines and behind the scenes. Daily, they’re going all out to deliver excellence as they serve our elders in independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care and rehabilitation.

How is this different from the employee Christmas fund?
The Hero Fund is a temporary measure to recognize the heroes in our midst who each day go above and beyond, and to help alleviate some of the economic hardship caused by COVID-19.
